A challenge for all savvy web shoppers

Hi everybody,
I got a call from my brother last night asking me if could use a dead E-machine for any constructive purpose.

The Cyrix II, stop laughing, chip in the box is dead. The motherboard has leaking capacitors on it. The whole thing is out of warranty. I believe it to be a 300i model.

The cd rom, floppy and 4 gig hd all function properly. I also have a 32 Meg PCI video card, NIC and sound blaster card around hear somewhere I can use.

Now the challenge
Is it possible to put life back into this old beast on the cheap? This e-machine has a wimpy 100 watt power supply in it. Are low end boards and processors still available that might work in this box?

I thought it might be interesting to have a real basic internet capable machine in my garage.

Any thoughts? By the way, I am aware of fans of Newegg on this site, however, if an alternate supplier can be identified that would be helpful. My personal experiences with Newegg have not been all that positive.

Thank you

I have used this board to bring a few HP machines back to life. It seems to work fine and you can't beat the price
