Misc Revamping an older PC

Hi,
I'm planning to rebuild our older 450MhZ AMD PC.
It's going to be used a lot for flight simming.
Here's the configuration:

Mobo: P4 800 FSB Deluxe - $ 129.00
Pocessor: P4 800 FSB Deluxe 2.8GB -B=Northwood $274.00
Video: Radeon All in Wonder 9700 Pro/128MB $320.00
Sound: Soundblaster Audigy Gamer $ 72.00
Power Supply: Antec 550 W (w. front panel) $ 110.00
Ram: Crucial 512 MB DDR 333PC 2700 Memory $82.00
6 in 1 card reader (i500) $ ?

After recovering from this expense I like to add a DVD Burner.
We have the ATX Formfactor Case.
Most of the parts I plan on getting from newegg.com

The round cables, etc. I plan on getting locally.

Do you have any comments or suggestions?
I'll appreciate any input. Thanks, Ann

Nice config, but personally, I would go with the Athlon XP systems.

IMO with a little rearranging, you might as well build a complete new system.

An AMD processsor/mobo combination would be almost $200 less, which would be enough to buy a case, new OS, and CDRW/DVD Player, at least.

Some mobos have pretty decent onboard sound, and I would splurge a little more on the ram.

Rest of the specs look awesome.

Yeah, it's practically replacing....
I think that the Athlon is running hotter than Pentium.
Also, I have already bought the Mobo.
Thanks for your input.

excellent config but you might wanna pick the 2.6C which is only a $20 difference from the 2.4C (2.6C->2.8C ~78 dollar difference)

also you'll need DDR400

an athlon xp may be cheaper but the performance sure isnt the same. a 2.4C is roughly the performance of a 3200+.
