Newegg rma/return options?

I bought some laptop memory, it didnt work, I rma'd it, got the second stick...it didnt work either..so I have to assume it just wont work.

So now I have a slight quandry.

Do you think I can return the memory for an exchange of another item altogether? (it only cost like .87 to ship it back, lol)

I am scared to order more mem from newegg since the ram is 200 pin sodimm pc2100 ddr...which is exactly what the Inspiron1100 uses, but it didnt work....so I want to swap it for something else...(to avoid any sort of restocking fee).

Do they do that??

I guess Ill order from crucial, or Dell, cuz I dont feel like trying 50 sticks till I get the right one. (laptops suck by the way, for this reason, hehe).

So will they let me swap for another item?

Thanks, JP

I would imagine when you send that one back, they would offer credit as an option...

I ran into the same situation a few days ago. I called Newegg and they wouldn't give me credit or let me exchange for a different item, but the guy said he would waive the 15% restocking fee. That was good enough for me.

Newegg doesn't issue credit. They keep all accounts balanced at zero. You can exchange it for the exact same item or be issued a refund. Might try calling customer service and see if they will let you use that money for something else though.

Well, if I cant return somehow without losing the restocking fee, I will just hold it for future use. I just ordered from crucial using their selector etc. Laptops seem a bit more picky, hehe.

Good to "see" you Chris, whats up at the wheel factory, sos?

Yep, they will. I had the same situation w/ a MSI board. I excahnged it for an a7n8x and they waived the fee.

Hey JP. When are you gonna list another FS thread here? How's the wheel factory well I work 7 days/84 hours a week. Who is buying all these Hummers? I make 240 wheels a day(enough for 48 Hummers a day or 336 Hummers a week) and still have to work OT to keep up with production demands. For a vehicle that's over $50,000 I can't believe how many they must be selling. Read somewhere that over 60% of the owners remove the original wheels and replace them with custom wheels. My next vehicle I buy I'm making them remove the wheels. Don't know how I'll get it off the lot. I hate wheels!

Speaking of Wheels...Hehe, I remember when I bought a GEO storm...a dude at work asked me "does it have rims?". I wanted to say..."no, I pulled off down the road on the hubs". Of course I knew he meant CUSTOM rims, lol.

yeah I havent felt like messing with the FS thing too much...sort of hard to get anywhere with it. I do have a new 200G maxtor but I cant decide whether to sell it or keep it.
