Overclock Asus. AMD 1800-2200

Hello. I have an asus motherboard and yesterday i noticed in the bios menu there is option to increase the speed of the processor. From 1800mhz to 2200.

However, when i tried to increase it to 2200 my computer would lock up while trying to boot windows XP.

What is the reason for this?

thx for reply:

Asus motherboard A7V333
AMD 2200
512 Corsair
geforce 440
Audigy 2

Currently im cooling using a 60mm to 80mm adapter with a 80mm fan....its the quietest alternative. However i do have a thermaltake silent boost if cooling is the problem.

Alright...i replaced my cpu fan with a thermaltake silent boost. At 1800mhz its running at about 40 deg C.

I tried to boost the speed to 2200 through the bios but it doesnt bootup...actually the monitor doesnt even work so i cant tell what its doing.

Eventually i shut the computer down then turned it back on and the system automatically downgraded the speed to 1350 mhz.

In short, the most i can get out of my comp is 1800 mhz. Anyone know what i can do to achieve 2200mhz?
