question about case fans

the fans that can be mounted behind the power switch on the front of the case, which direction should they blow air, do they just circulate? because i don't see how they could be an intake or exhaust??

Yeah, ideally the front is intake and the rear is exhaust... But most of the time cases don't have any air they're pulling in from the front, it's just mostly circulating... I suppose if you were bored one day and feeling up to it, you could drill a hole in the front of your case.

That's why I bought a cheap-O case... I can mess with it and don't have to worry!

if there are fans in the front of the case then there should be an opening in the front somewhere for air to come in.

Let me clarify:

Front and left side fans take air in.
Top and rear fans blow air out.

Simple?

most front panels without inlet holes can be opened up with a dremel or a hacksaw at the bottom where you can't see it. It will make a big differance.
