we all look after rebate's, but looking at ebay you can find the item cheaper than the rebate and new in box
where do those ebayers get all those great deals and still make money
i haven't had any luck on ebay, the items are good and the bidding starts low, but a million people bid and the price sometimes gets higher than retail, couple that with most ebayers huge shipping charges and your over paying...
Well, it varies from item to item and seller to seller.
Some sellers just don't mark things up with a ridiculous profit margin like CompUSA or BestBuy does, so of course the price is cheaper.
Some sellers buy things from stores that are going out of business. They get a great deal on the products, so they can give you a great deal and still make a profit.
Some sellers have stolen the items they're selling. Since they have no cost on the item, they can sell it for ANY price and still make a profit. Beware: this is the case with a very large percentage of people who are selling new Xbox or PS2 systems for less than what you see in the stores! (and yes, it is illegal to buy a stolen item -- they're not the only ones breaking the law!)
while I've got some good deals before, most of the stuff I look at now (such as computer parts) really aren't any better priced than what I can get from an online vendor.... Some of the shipping costs are VERY HIGH on ebay.
I was looking at some motherboards a while ago and although the motherboard was WAY cheaper than I could find anywhere else, the shipping was something like $25.00. That made the "deal" not worth it.
