well, i haven't bought an abit in quite a long time, but the Asus board is DEFINITELY worth the money. Stable, overclockable, noticably faster than the VIA chipsets, and kickin sound capabilities. (install the Asus soundstorm software).

dont get the -x get the deluxe if you're going asus
everthing i've seen though shows the nf7-s as being the better overclocker

I bought the NF7-S because I thought I'd read somewhere that Asus used a non-standard audio chip so you had to install special drivers instead of the base nVidia chipset drivers.

I haven't had any problems at all with this board, so I'm happy.

You don't need any special drivers for the audio chip as far as I can tell, having just set up a -Deluxe.

No experience with the Abit, but I've never been disappointed by an Abit in the past.

Which one has the features you like for a price you can pay? That's how I decide.

Abit NF7-S

i bought the board since March.

although its only version 1.0 however it runs VERY well.

Too many mobos, too little money...

I just went and bought the A7V8X after shopping for hours for which nforce2 board I was going to buy. I wanted the Soundstorm audio, but wound up trading that in for a much cheaper board with other goodies. And I feel the KT400 is right next to the nForce2 boards in performance, though I have never compared any encoding projects between the two. A lot of the benchmarks I have seen put them extremely close...and this board was only $80. Smeggin' eh! I didn't want to buy two dimms anyway, cuz I was going to get two 512MB, but now I can just get one and buy another later when I feel like spending the dough.

I always bought Asus Boards and think they are exelent.
This time I decided to try Abit and got a NF7-S 2.0.
So far I love this Abit board
