Approximate "Laptop" Value?
I've got an old Dell Inspiron 5000 laptop that I was curious if anyone could estimate a value for...
I'll start with the basic specs but theres a huge catch that makes it sort of worthless in a few ways
Dell Inspiron 5000
650Mhz Pentium 3
15" LCD
128MB PC100 RAM (1 DIMM), 1 dimm still empty
20GB Hard Drive
8x Modular Toshiba DVD-ROM
100MB Modular Zip Drive
internal floppy
internal 56k modem
2 PCMCIA slots (supports type I and type II)
Windows 98 SE
Microsoft Works Suite 2000
Still have all the original software CDs and Manuals
Port Replicator ("Standard" version without a built in NIC)
Heres the kicker, the LCD panel doesnt work on it, which makes its use as a laptop more or less non-existant (its actualy broken, I could post pics, acts like it internal cracked somehow, big black blobs)
I've seen similar models on ebay which were actualy alot worse in some cases (IE, 6GB or 12GB hard drive), and also didnt include port replicator or zip drive. These were around 400-500 dollars, however most were from sellers with extremely high ratings (like 500+ feedback).
Ne ways, I've also seen 15" LCD panels for this model on ebay for around 150-200 dollars, but I havent bothered tryign to get one.
Was just curious if anyone could estimate the value of it, and/or comment on whether or not it would even be worth tryign to selling.
Thx,
Vhockey
