Stay away from Monarch!

The worse on line buying I have ever had!

This is how it started...I should have known.
I was sent a motherboard that had quite obviously been used and returned. It was also shipped without ANY of the accompanying accessories. Although it did have the sticker on the box saying that it was inspected and all the pieces were included. When I called to have them fix this travisty I was assured this was an error on their behalf and would be handled immediately with cross shipping(I send them the one I have and they send me a new one). This was on Friday, March 28. Today (04/01/03)I had to cancel my order. I was LIED TO and given more rhetoric, but still NO tracking number. After being lied to on 3 consecutive occasions, I had no choice other than cancelling my order and buying the motherboard locally for $20 more. I figure the $20 was worth the headache it saved me from dealing with these less than competent people. Needless to say this will be my ONE and ONLY dealings with this company and I will be sure to pass along this information to anyone who is seeking info about online ordering. I seriously call into question the 9.75 rating that this company has recieved. I would hate to see what kind of performance a lower rated company would give!

And now?

Per Sterling, we will refund your Credit card for the full amount of $98.00

I had enough. This place is right up there with buying from the guy with the Buick in the alley.
Stay away! After giving them more than a fare amount of time to credit my credit card for a returned motherboard I have no choice but to turn it over to my card company. They say it takes 7to10 days for it to show up,I think May to July is way more then I should have waited, but hey they ARE VERY GOOD at being miss leading. Monarch? I don't think so.

I'm stay waiting Monarch! Where's my money?

Well it is a shame to hear that you had a bad experience. Make sure to post it at resellerratings.com and see if you get any kind of response from the company.

I've dealt with Monarch 2 times, since I'm not made out of money. First time, they upgraded to a free express saver because it was the Fourth of July week, so they wanted me to have it before Fourth of July, very nice. I even wrote an article about it found here

My second time was my video card purchase, a BBA Radeon 9600 Pro. I'd write an article about it, but narrowband, and no benchmarking programs make it a no no.

I don't know, they are a busy place to buy, and no one is obviously perfect, and mistakes do happen. If I were you, I'd contact someone who can do something about it at Monarch.

I did post at resellerratings in April. Turns out they gave me a store credit for the return. They never botherd to call or E-Mail that little bit of info. So after many phone calls and being hung up on a couple of times I finally talked to Shawn who sent the E-Mail above.

If you contact an individual person at Monarch they actually do something about it. E-mail responses are faster than I initially expected. BTW -- if you e-mail them why you are unhappy, AFAIK, they'll learn from their mistakes through their unhappy customers... so it's worth a shot.

Yea, I know, it's resolved. But I just wanted to give you a heads up on the issue. If you notify them, they'll be happy to resolve any issue(s) and try to make sure it won't happen again.

Having to pay interest on my credit card for a store credit may be a resolution for you, but it sure isn't for me. Sheesh...........Perhaps you don't realize that I have been working with them since April and I have had enough.

Motherboard from Monarch

Bought P4-2.6 + Asus p4P800 + nvidia fx5600. The MB was defective, replaced ( RMA 4685 )was had to pay shipping ( $10 ) to return defective product. Got replacement P4P800, was another defective board, this one would'nt even power up the CPU or system fan ! Left ALL other parts same but replaced the board with one from local store, system worked ! Asked Monarch by phone and email to refund board price ( $ 120 ) but was charged restocking fee ( 15 % or $ 18 ) after getting 2 DEFECTIVE boards in a row !! Plus had to pay shipping back for defective products twice ! ( $18 total ). I really felt and asked politely in emails and calls that after getting and paying for shipping of 2 DEFECTIVE products in a row i shouldnt be charged 15 % restocking fee ! It's not like i changed my mind and they incur costs because of that, but was told but both RMA person and a manager that its their policy and thats it. End result, $16 in shipping back fees + $18 restocking fee + 10 days waits. All that after spending almost $500 on system parts.
The relevan #'s are
Original order : 0092764
1st RMA: 4685
Replacment order: 0028467
2nd RMA : 4792
The replacement motherboard box had a " Warranty Void" sticker , maybe ASUS gives them QC rejected boards ? Be Carefull !!!

For what it's worth they finally coughed up the cash to my card company, thanks to this form. Now that's pretty poor when they wouldn't do right 'till it's in print for all to see.Their excuse?growing pains... I got pains from their growing as well. I to had to pay shipping three times, but without the restock fee. Phone calls and E-Mails were for naught. They talk a good game but the players are less then great! Stay after them, eventually they'll do right but don't expect to get all your money back just be happy you're done with them!
