???? HUH????

Got a UPS Notice that something I have to sign for will be here the 15th.??

OMG!

Do I hear Sleigh Bells?

Nothing yet on the UPS tracking site so I don't know where it's originating from... I'll hold off on a unscheduled trip to find out.

It's almost too good to be true. Man I'm hoping for a Season Miracle here.

Just shutting off the phones and not answereing emails/E-forms ain't declaring bankruptcy.

BUT

If I had money owed me I'd get to court quick
Sorry. I'm just a bit lost in all that's going on.
I reread everything and I understand now.

EVERYONE HOLD ONTO YOUR HATS!

The system should be back tomorrow! UPS Has it in Georgia as of 0300 Hours this morning and is scheduled for delivery tomorrow!

So glad I have to cancel the court appearence and write the FTC and GA Attorney General.

I really am confused why the COMPANY is going through this evolution and how it is going about it.

Was my system repaired through two rogue workers saying their integrity was more important than company policies or is it that the company itself has limitations placed on it by a third party?

Just in 6 months top of the heap to dogpiled.

I hope to see something written in here by someone that explains the past two months.

But for now I'll just keep shouting "It's a Christmas Miracle!"

Well David@Monarch and Matt@Monarch, Integrity above all else.
You did good!

Thank you for sticking to your word of system back to me for Christmas.

But who knows if it is actually fixed or just shipped back in the same condition it was received in. Be sure to update us on if they actually fixed your computer.

And on another note, [H]ardOCP has run a blurb on their front page about whether Monarch is going out of business or not. Here's a direct quote of what Kyle Bennett posted on their front page:

We then saw constant complaints about Monarch’s customer service in our forums and at that time we decided to end their advertising contract with HardOCP. It just did not feel right telling our readers to rely on Monarch any more. After that we heard rumors of them going bankrupt, but those rumors could not be substantiated. And finally this week Monarch is not answering phones or returning many of their customers’ emails. Here is what Monarch had to say when asked when asked for an official statement on the condition of their business:

I emailed the owner and legal for the answers to your below questions regarding the recent issues at Monarch so hang on and I will contact you with an official update ASAP.

That is certainly not a good sign and no reply as to the state of your business is surely scary for customers looking for support. I think most of the people that have had issues with Monarch are just about out of patience. We will let you know what else transpires.
Maybe they will get an answer back and maybe not, but at least they are getting some pretty negative publicity on a major hardware review site now.

That's good news,at least someone got something back. But at the risk of being the Grinch,I'd keep my expectations low until you find out what kind of repair job they did. There are people out there who are on their third RMA and still don't have a working system.First thing I'd do is check inside and make sure you got the parts you paid for,and not some cheap replacements or engineering samples.

Somehow I doubt it,it's the same old story with them,a lot of lip service but no real information. They know if people find out what's really going on,all those customers who are waiting for their money or mechandise will make a beeline for their credit card providers,or worse, their lawyers!

Hey I'll keep everyone updated and check it when it comes in to see if it works.
I'm not a guru so I'll only be able to say if its a differernt MB and if the system works.

BUT even if it doesn't work I can take it down the street to Bob the electronics guy and learn how to replace a motherboard. (Bob charges by the six pack),,,

Now UPS has dropped back three days from the original date so it's the 18th now.

Last week the power supply blew on my 11 month old custom Monarch PC. That same night I ordered a new one from NewEgg. I didn't dare even try to contact Monarch for a replacement under the 3 yr extended service contract I have. I knew that even if I managed to get through to them they would have wanted my credit card number which would have resulted in a charge for a replacement PSU which we all know would have never ever been sent!

I am a senior level application architect that works in a very stressful environment (financial sector) and I work long ugly hours (60 hours a week or longer required). When i was in college I used to like to get under the hood of my PC.

[snip]

Along those lines ... I am thinking of buying a new PC, and maybe using this one as a file server or something ... who do you guys recommend at this point? Or should I just buy a Dell ...
Replacing the mainboard will cost ~ 300+ and your local computer service tech can do it if you want(that's ~ 50% of the 300+). You CAN do it yourself and get a ten times better board for the same money ... it is not that hard but is time consuming.
However, considering your income and probable needs, I would suggest a '' workstation '' ( even from Dell ) at ~5 grand which comes with a real 1 / 3-year warranty.
I worked at 60+ hour weeks(engineering) and can relate. If building the system will help relieve the stress, it could be a good project for you but you will have to decide if it will relieve stress or cause it ... depends on your personality.
...

For anyone interested I was bitten by MCS last year and also am still dealing with the shoddy parts problems. One item out of all of them turned-out to be ok. ... I got lucky and eventually(3 months) got part of my money back. NO WAY I would attempt business with them again. However, if they file Chapter 7, I'll get in line if I can.

c-ya

AND MERRY CHRISTMAS!

My story comes probably at about the time it was the beginning of the end for MCS. I ordered some RAM in late 2005 and received it in a timely manner, but it was defective. My system would post, but it didn't read the correct amount of memory. Memtest86 confirmed multiple errors. After spending probably 90 minutes on the phone with a support person (all the while trying to convince him that I was indeed proficient with computers), I was granted an RMA. I shipped back the RAM right away and it took at least six weeks for the money to be credited back to my CC. I guess I should consider myself lucky. I wish all of you who are currently in the process of getting refunds the best of luck.
