LCD Monitor Recommendations

I'm looking for an LCD monitor in the $300-ish maybe $350 range (lower?) to use when going to LAN's without taking my huge 19" CRT. The monitor I use currently is a 19" flat Proview that works wonderfully, it's just big. At the same store I got that screen at, they have a 15" Proview LCD with built-in Crappy Speakers(R), and if anyone has had experience with Proview's LCDs let me know. Another one I am looking at is at this webpage, and it seems like a good panel but I need some more advice before I take the plunge. My freind is getting this Hitachi but it seems inferior in many ways to the other panel I listed above. Opinions, please?

I have a Dell 17" (1720FP?) that I love. I caught it on sale for 380 shipped a few months ago. Have been very happy with it.

OK, I found a good deal on an NEC/Mitsubishi LCD part AS LCD5V-BK at Dell.com, but I can't link to the page because of the way those idiots designed their site . It's Dell part number A0104847, so if someone wants to give it a good recommendation or any other 15" flat-panel on their site, please go ahead and do.

From the reviews I read online, the Samsung 151S is a great monitor. Plus, it's hard to beat a 3 year warranty. They extend it by 6 months if you register online soon after purchase, so I'm covered until December of 2006. Bonus! Just based on price, I picked up a Samsung 151V 15" LCD (black) about a month ago. I'm very happy with it. I got a 152N for a friend, the base is a little different, and the bezel is silver. It actually came with a wall mount in the box, I was very surprised. I like his better. I had a Viewsonic VG150B for a few months, but I like the picture quality on the Samsung soooo much more. The text is alot sharper. If you can get them for under $270 I'd say that's a decent deal, I paid $256 after rebates from CompUSA.

One thing though!! Black LCD's take a little getting used to. The screen is very bright against the black plastic!! I'd go with a silver/black combo if you can. They tend to be a few bucks more, but if you skip a pizza or a few drinks, you're even.

*edit- My Sunday morning ad browsing found the Samsung 151V for $219.97 at CompUSA. Print that page and bring it in to get that price. That's $10 cheaper than they had it last month!!

I've got the ProView PL565 and it's a great bang for the buck monitor. I bought it for my daughter for college and she loves it. My son plays games on it and it works quite well.

So their isn't a ton of streaking and bluring, I assume? The one I saw was a gray-steel colour and had speakers on each side. It also tilted right or left, I believe, to make it into portrait mode instead of landscape.
