Well you can never have enough space it seems but the Lexar 128mb should take care of all your needs for now and at about 20 dollars after rebate you could afford to go for it, imo. The only thing that I wonder about the Lexar is the build quality, though, especially the part that hooks onto the keychain. Also, not sure the Lexar 128 is usb 2.0 if that matters to you.
The one that allows you to interchange media looks nice, but I think the better value is in the Lexar that already has the 128m(albeit fixed) included. If you already have the media or can get it for an acceptable price(to you), then maybe get the one that allows for interchangeable media.
there's a couple of cents for you...G/L!

I just finished looking at the link about memory sticks and then saw your post. To read this link, at the top of the page click on news and on the left under Hardware News you will find the link to the mem sticks. I'm very interested in getting one for myself. for the price I was considering the 256Mb size.

| Supermedia Store is a great place to buy flash memory sticks. get the "Flash Drive" ... not only is it a great price, but they work great, and come with a usb extension cord.
is fry's an overseas store?

oh, and I have a 256mb Flash Drive...paid $118 last year (2002) and it works great. if I had more cash, I would've paid for the 512mb drive. it's the size of a small pack of gum (very light too, with a led drive indicator light) and gets barely warm. all in all a great buy. be careful though, win95 and previous do not support flash drives without the accompianing software, so if you're sharing files with friends, don't forget to bring your software cd too. kinda annoying, but newer versions of windows have the drivers already.
happy trails! lol

Omardeth,
I bought the Apacer 256mb USB drive from Newegg for about $60. I really wanted USB 2.0, so I paid the premium for it. It came with an extension cable, and fits easily on my keychain. It works exactly as advertised; I've even put an old GL Quake folder on it to play at work when I have some downtime. Makes transferring files to my friend's house easier, don't have to burn an 80mb BF1942 patch onto a cd now. I quite like it.

i think i am gonna go with teh 256 , i am just kinda stuck on weither i want the one that useing trio so i am not stuck with only 256 . or get a 256 one . the trio is alittle more but it will take 3 different types of media and up to 2 gig in size . the option of changing out the media is nice .
also can you boot off of these or do you have to have one that is bootable ?
also is there really that much difference between the 1.1 and 2.9 versions

When I format mine in WinXP, I don't get the option to create an MS-DOS startup disc, it's greyed out. It might be possible with a different utility to make it a bootable disc, I suppose, but I've never tried.
USB 2.0 is 40x faster than USB 1, (480 Mbs vs. 12 Mbs) but my understanding is that the flash memory used in these drives isn't that fast, and I read on the Newegg user ratings of this drive that USB 2 ends up about 5x faster than USB 1. I don't notice any speed difference when I'm transferring files to the USB drive than any other IDE drive in my system, and I have USB 2 on my comp here at home.

Huge difference, as said.
But, USB 1 was 1.5mbps ... USB 1.1 was 12mbps, and of course USB 2.0 is 480mbps...those actually being maximum transfer rates - rarely, if ever achieved
Either way, with the USB 2.0 you can every bit of data from that stick in a couple seconds.
