HELP--PAYPAL FRAUD!!!

I'm so pissed off right now, I just got an e-mail showing that this transaction was attempted using my PAYPAL account.

What should I do? I don't want this guy/gal attempting this again...thankfully I didn't have $2,500 in the account at that time, but what if I did???

I'm worried, any advice is greatly appreciated!!!

Mike

Yowsah, good thing is right, mine draws directly from my bank account, so I'd better watch it. Try the guys at www.paypalsucks.com they might be able to give you some pointers (Yes, it's a real website! )

Thanks, I will check out that site a little later, I just finished changing my password and verifying all of my PAYPAL info. I really have NO idea how this person got my information, but it scares me.

Look at this, expected clear date is July 7th so I can't close my account until then, what if I have $2,500 in my account then? I guess I should go to my bank first thing in the morning with this information!
Oh man I'm so angry right now...

How do you think this guy could have gotten into my account???

I had the same thing happen to me as someone stole my password changed my email and password and started taking money out of my bank and cc. I had the bank reverse the charges and canceled my cc. Paypal is hard to work with in a fraud case as this. My bank had me file a fraud affidavit on the fraud. I will look to see if I can dig out my old thread.

edit: here was my thread it took paypal 3 1/2 months to finally get everything straitened out. I use mostly c2it and have since reopened a paypal but change my password every month and use a bank account with only $50 in it unless I need to make a larger payment.
Also make sure you get ahold of your bank asap as they will continue to try and take it until they receive the $$$'s or until the dispute is settled. And you can never close the account while a transaction is in progress.

Well I was able to go into my PAYPAL profile and remove both my CC account and my bank account...hopefully that will stop ANY and ALL future problems with PAYPAL. I will NEVER use PAYPAL again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm calling my bank right now, I'll press 1 for emergency or whatever it takes.

Thanks for the support, I'm about to read your thread.
