I have ordered from PC Wonder Inc ATI 9700 PRO and recieved exactly what I ordered. Maybe you had a fluke. Good luck. Also PC Wonder has always been considerate to me and helped me purchase many additional items since.

Yep, that was me who started that post. I will never order from that place again. I was also the one who started the ResellerRatings page about them. They had the nerve to send me some cheap PC3200 RAM that was supposed to be Micron and it was some cheap brand. I can't even member the name of it.

Uhh...Also, this was posted on ResellerRatings, too. You may want to check your card:

I ordered ATI Radeon 9700 Pro 128MB DDR from www.pcwonderinc.com on 4/29/2003. The item on the invoice is clearly stated “ATI Radeon 9700 Pro 128MB DDR” with part number “HATI-9700PRO”, however what they shipped me is not a *REAL* Radeon 9700 Pro, it is a counterfeit item using the Radeon 9700 non-pro version with refreshed VGA BIOS. I used a few utilities to read the GPU data and the results indicate that it is a regular Radeon 9700 and not the pro version! I have also checked with ATI company and they believe what I have is not a real Radeon 9700 Pro.

1. The memory on the card is Infineon 3.3ns, a real "PRO" should be using 2.8ns memory, mostly made by Samsung.
2. The core/memory on the card are clocked at 275/270, that is the spec for the regular Radeon 9700 non-pro version. A real "PRO" should be clocked at 325/310.
3. Although the VGA BIOS device ID is modified to report Radeon 9700 Pro, the GPU core properties is still indicating it is "ATI Radeon 9700" and NOT “PRO”.
4. The label sticker at the back on the card is with fake bar code, although it is written "Radeon 9700 Pro", the card is actually a Radeon 9700 non-pro.

I have tried calling them many times already during the past few days, however, I could only reach their pre-recorded message, besides, the voice mail is full and not accepting any more recordings. I also sent them emails but got no response. This is clearly deception, a scam. What I want is simply a pre-paid UPS or Fedex shipping label and RMA number, so I can send all the material back to PC WONDER INC for full refund.

Here is another one:

I bought the 9700pro and when it arrived it was the 9500pro with a 9700pro sticker on the card. I sent the card back for a refund. I will keep you all posted on the status. Please do not buy from this company.

5/20/03 I sent back the video card and they refunded my money back within 8 days. They will send you an email with the instructions. Here they are if you need them.

If you recieved the incorrect item please send the video card back to us.
Please include a copy of the invoice, and a note. Also please include the
cost of return shipping so we may reimburse you. We will examine the card
and ship the correct video card in the case you recieved the wrong card. We
buy these cards from different vendors and have them dropped shipped
occasionally. We will check into the origin of the shipments and manually
inspect the new card to insure the correct shipment. We do apologize for the
inconvience. You may also send the item back for a refund.

BELOW IS OTHER POSSIBILITIES THAT THE CARD MAY STILL BE THE CORRECT CARD.
FEEL FREE TO CONTACT US IF YOU ARE NOT SURE THE CARD YOU RECIEVED IS THE
CORRECT ONE AND WE WILL HELP YOU TO DETERMINE WHICH ONE YOU RECIVED.

IF YOU ARE SURE YOU RECIEVED THE INCORRECT CARD YOU DO NOT NEED TO READ
BELOW.

THANK YOU,

Hello,

We are disappointed that you are not satisfied with your purchase of a video
card. Please note that there may be many problems that cause video cards to
malfunction or register at incorrect speeds or versions. If your computer
will not recognize the card it will only run it at a lower setting or report
a lesser version. Please also make sure that all the correct drivers are
installed. The video card that you purchase is a bulk card not a retail
card. This card comes with no guarantee on performance. Bulk cards are
assembled in the most economical manor and there are usually many versions
of these as opposed to the retail version. This is why the card may slightly
differ then a retail card.

You have selected the standard warranty. For a refund or exchange you will
need to ship the item back to the address below and include a note and a
copy of the invoice. Since no additional warranty has been purchased we are
not responsible for defective cards after 10 days. Once you return your card
we will test the card and verify any reason for return/exchange. No RMA is
needed if you include the above information in the package. There is no
restocking fees on video cards. If you decide you would like a refund or we
choose to refund the order after testing the card you will see it post to
your credit card approximately 7-10 days after we issue the refund. You can
always check the status of your return by clicking the yahoo status update
link you have received.

Here is yet a third one:

This company attempted to rip me off. I had attempted to purchase a 9700 pro and what they sent me was a 9500 pro with a 9700 pro sticker on the card. When installing the card it installed as a 9500/9700 series so it was masked but after checking the clock speed and memeory layout of the board it was in fact a 9500 pro. that is a 150 dollar swing in price. Needless to say I was pissed. Their cust repsonse time was AWFUL but the people were curtious when i was able to get in touch with them via email only!!!
They did not reimburse the full cost of my shipping the card back, they did replace my card with a true 9700 pro but I am having problems with that one as well. I give it a couple more days before I return this one for a cash refund. Judging from the other posts about this company fraud seems to be common. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE CROOKS

Yet a fourth one:

I ordered ATI 9700 PRO, on their site it says "Built by ATI" http://pcwonderinc.com/atiradeon9700.html when I got it, CD was from Sapphire with logo Powered by ATI on it, and I used ati site to look up what is and I couldn't figured out http://mirror.ati.com/support/identify/index.html so I have no idea what they send me, what's the freakin point to advertise something what you can't provide, it would much easier to put Powered by ATI on their site, I wouldn't buy it, and I wouldn't post this here,

And lastly a fifth one:

This company attempted to fraudently switch a video card Ati 9700Pro by putting a sticker on and selling me a ATI 9500Pro Video Card. And I am not the first one they attempted to do this to. Several people have been ripped off this same way, check the rest of the listings for the last couple of months. I wonder how many people didn't check this out and notice the difference in Video Cards.

I have tried emailing this company now for 4 days, with no response. There phone number has a message but doesn't take messages. I need to return a ATi 9700 video card. I need to get an RMA # Next step is to dispute the charge on the credit card. I will send off three more emails to them today.

Its now been 7 days since I have tried to return the ATI Video Card and emailing them almost everyday and no acknowledgement from PC Wonder. If you order from them!!! I hope you get the correct product and don't have to return the item for the correct one or you will never get them to respond.

I am now disputing the charge with my credit card company. Try calling there phone number, they don't take messages.

After 9 days of emailing them I finally received a response to return the video card. I sent the card back on Jun 10th and now hope and pray they live up to their word and give me a full refund, as stated in the email received.

So I would definetely check your card.
