Outdoors Comp-U-Plus criminal fraud

you won't believe this story. I ordered an ATI Radeon 9700 Pro from Comp-U-Plus. Eight days later I received a package that contained a shrink wrapped and sealed ATI Radeon 9700 Pro box. However inside the box was an ATI Mach 64 PCI graphics card (a $20 value). As of this writing , the company has refused to do anything about this. Their customer service simply doesnt care. This is criminal fraud and I have filed a complaint with the NY State Attorney General's office.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY

That really stinks! Just remember the three most important things in filing a complaint; documentation, documentation, documentation!!

Make sure you correspond by e-mail and keep copies. When you call by phone, keep a signed, dated log. Etc.

Good luck.

I bought a hard drive from them years ago and even then their reseller ratings on returns weren't good.

I can't believe they wouldn't work with you, but it sounds like a really weird situation. Have you called ATi about it? There should be a sticker with the serial number of the card that should have been in the box.. They could check their system and see if that card was registered to someone else?

Yeah, their CS sucks

I used to buy stuff from there, but their CS is something to be desired. Bought a few keyboards that didn't work, nobody ever helped me out either.

Did you dispute it with your credit card company? That'll tick Comp-u-Plus off.

I would also advise everyone to avoid Comp-U-Plus as well.

Grandma

PS - Why don't you email their customer service and send them this link?

I just bought a MB from them. The webpage from them described it as having RAID. Well teh one they sent doesnt have raid. Thier exuse, sorry we must have cut and pasted the wrong bullets. Thier solution? Have me send back the MB at my expense and then buy the one with RAID (for more money).

I talked with a Goldy there. She claims that they dont sell the MB that I bought anymore (still listed on thier site though) and I guess that they woudl be doing me a favor!

They only ship expensively and I ordered a MB and CPU. Yep, they charged me more even though they came in the same box.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE! The salesmen are the worst and all they want is internet orders and god knows what you will really get.

bum deal... id call the credit card company and report theft/fraud, and get them to pause payment. twist their arm, and they'll start agreeing with you pretty quickly.

i have been doing business with a snake lately [buyaib.com] and i finally got bit, however, as long as you keep your receipts/confirmations, they will listen to you, so im gonna RMA for the 3rd time... lol what a buncha crap

hope you bust 'em good

What credit card company did you use? Mastercard has worked very well with me when I've had fraud issues.
