Thanks for the advice Slaird. I think I'm going to have to call them, as the replacement I got does the same thing. I only had my computer plugged into it too, so I know it's not the load. (It's fairly tame right now... haven't had a chance to deck it out too much yet. )

I'd concur with testing the unit before exchanging it. I've gotten 2 bad ones in a row, but you could have gotten a good one off the bat.

BTW, I don't think I like this thread. The first time I was reading the comments about the UPS failing, my power went out for about 2 seconds and my computer rebooted. I was reading it about 3 hours ago and the power went out for almost 2 hours. This thread is cursed!

Genosmm,
Thanks for recognizing that. I didn't realize that they were two different models. I kept wondering why you were saying yours was 500VA when my first one was only 450VA. I thought you were just rounding up. It is so odd that they had the deals so similar $40-$30Rebate.

I'm sorry dude. You are not having luck with the power outages. Maybe you better get that UPS replaced soon. BTW did you get the energizer or the APC model?

I got the Energizer; the APC was long gone. I'm planning on finding the box tommorrow and giving them a call.

BTW, the one I got for work does the same thing; make that 3 bad ones in a row!
