Outdoors USB 007 (www.usb007.com) is a FAKE

DO NOT BUY FROM USB 007! I sent money to USB007 through PayPal and never received a product. So I sent e-mails to:

megawin@onecentstore.com (their PayPal e-mail address)
Sales@usb007.com
cs@usb007.com
TechSupport@usb007.com

And NEVER received a response. This looks like another internet scam. After a little bit of research, I found that their site is hosted in Hong Kong... pretty sketchy. I would have never purchased from them if I had known that.

I have done more research for anybody who is interested. Check out my blog for more info.

While we want to let people make their own judgement about our site and service, here is what has happened:

2003-07-19 (Sat) He placed an order for $23.93
2003-07-19 (Sat) PayPal sent him a receipt confirming the order
2003-07-21 (Mon) His order was sent to warehouse for fulfillment
2003-07-22 (Tue) His order was prepared to ship the next day
2003-07-23 (Wed) We got many mgs from our svc providers about his claim that we are "scam"
2003-07-23 (Wed) Management put a hold-request to his order
2003-07-23 (Wed) He sent us an email asking us to respond
2003-07-24 (Thu) Refund approved and issued within the same hour
2003-07-24 (Thu) PayPal sent him a refund notification
2003-07-28 (Mon) He sent us another email asking for his refund
2003-07-29 (Tue) We told him that refund was issued on 7/24

You left things out

While the events happened as you listed, you left some major things out. First of all, PayPal sent me an e-mail telling me that you received my money, NOT confirming any order thereafter. Second, the only e-mail I received directly from you was sent after you had refunded me the money, even though I had sent you many e-mails previously. If you would have sent me a SINGLE e-mail telling me that my order was placed and on its way, I would not have made any fuss.

Below is a couple things you left out in your timeline:

2003-07-19 (Sat) He placed an order for $23.93
2003-07-19 (Sat) PayPal sent him a receipt confirming the order
> 2003-07-21 (Mon) I sent my first e-mail to cs@usb007.com asking about my order
2003-07-21 (Mon) His order was sent to warehouse for fulfillment
> 2003-07-22 (Tue) I sent a second e-mail to cs@usb007.com, sales@usb007.com, and TechSupport@usb007.com telling them that I was getting anxious not having received a single e-mail from them
2003-07-22 (Tue) His order was prepared to ship the next day
> 2003-07-23 (Wed) I sent a third e-mail to all the above addresses as well as their service providers complaining that I had sent them money and had no idea where my money went
2003-07-23 (Wed) We got many mgs from our svc providers about his claim that we are "scam"
> 2003-07-23 (Wed) USB007's service providers threatened to sue me if I was not quiet
2003-07-23 (Wed) Management put a hold-request to his order
> 2003-07-23 (Wed) Management did not bother to mention this hold-request to the customer
2003-07-23 (Wed) He sent us an email asking us to respond
> As you can tell, this was the 4th e-mail, non of which where responded to until 2003-07-29, 10 days after the original order was placed
2003-07-24 (Thu) Refund approved and issued within the same hour
> 5 days after no contact, I didn't even know if they issed the refund or PayPal did because they were not contacting me
2003-07-24 (Thu) PayPal sent him a refund notification
> It never explained that USB007 had refunded me the money
2003-07-28 (Mon) He sent us another email asking for his refund
2003-07-29 (Tue) We told him that refund was issued on 7/24
> The first and only e-mail they sent me, and by the way, it was short and mean, no apologies at all. They didn't even explain themselves. This is the first time I understand the situation from their perspective.

I change my mind, I don't think you guys are a scam, I just think that your customer service is among the worst that I have ever encountered.

This will be our last posting on this matter. We don't want to make endless argument

1) Checked our mail log. Didn't get the msg you sent on 7/21. If we really missed that, we make our apology here.

2) We used to send one more email to customers after order is received, but people complained getting too many emails from us. 1 as receipt, 1 as order confirmation, 1 as shipment confirmation,...

3) We "did not bother to mention this hold-request..." because refund was issued the next day! Paypal's email should contain refund reason and our order number.

4) We noticed that you are using 2 different email addrs. You have probably missed some emails that went to "billing@stillwaterhosting.com". That is your email address with PayPal.

5) We have service level commitment to respond 90% of incoming email within the next business day and 99% within 2 business days.

BTW, if you make many postings on Internet that claims AOL is part of an Internet scam because they host a site, I wouldn't be surprised if they threaten to sue you.

1) I never received a bounce on any of my mail messages, so someone must have received them, but if you didn't receive the one on 7/21, what about the ones on 7/22 and 7/23. I have full copies of all of them. You replied to 1 of 4 e-mails, which is a 25% reply rate, and it took 7 days from the first e-mail that I sent you, which makes it a 4%/day level of commitment. Much lower than the 90%/day level of commitment that you say you have.

2) If you don't want to automatically send an e-mail telling people that you are sending them their product, at least raise your level of commitment, and not just your stated level of commitment you claim... my numbers are based on my own personal experience... and I have had a report of someone else having a similar problem trying to contact you.

3) So you think it is ok to not contact any unsatisfied customers, at least to find out what went wrong and maybe even mend the issue privately?

4) I did not miss any e-mails that were sent to billing@stillwaterhosting.com because not one e-mail was sent there by you guys. It is true that I used that one to purchase the product from you, but I mentioned that in my unanswered correspondences with you.

BTW, if you take the time to actually read the single posting on my blog:

http://rufy.com/tech/archives/000018.html

You will see that I never claim that your hosting comapny was a part of my bad experience at all. I just mentioned who your hosting provider was. That is like mentioning that a web site is hosted on AOL. Although if your site were a scam, I would not condone anybody hosting such web sites... just like I would not condone anybody (including AOL) to host kiddie porn or allow SPAM.

Have you read this by the way?

By the way, why is there a picture of one of your products sticking out of an iPod on the bottom of this page?
http://www.usb007.com/istick.htm

I have played with many iPods and know that there is no place on an iPod to put one of your USB drives in. You wouldn't want to mislead some unwitting customer into thinking it would work with their brand new iPod would you?

Hey, this is TechIMO (which coincidentally stands for In My Opinion)
This is NOT TechIAARAIMDMFMM (standing for I am a reseller and I must defend myself for my messups).

I think that the rebuttle to cardmagic was done in poor taste and I have since chosen to not do business with this company, USB007, not that I had any plans to in the first place. The reason for these forums is to share opinions of business, whether they be B&M or online. These forums are not for resellers to come on and bash people that have been wronged.
You, USB007, are on my iggy list.

USB007 and cardmagic, please discuss any personal business problems between you two in emails or private messages.

I am aware that this is not a conventional way of discussing personal problems, and I will stop doing so. I never meant to and would have loved to do this privately, but USB007 never returned my e-mails. I would have have been more than happy to discuss this privately in e-mail, but USB007 chose to discuss it publicly.

Thank you Christian-Comp for the support. I think this is a great forum by the way.
