They have the cyberhome 300/s on sale at RadioShack for $60 with a $10 rebate. I needed a spare DVD player for the kid but it turns out this thing has progressive scan and component video out. I also have an older model Toshiba SD2700 which is great but this new one is so tiny and seems to recover better when it tries to read some bad VCDs. The component video seems to have more intense colors than s-video.

I would never have thought of getting a no-namer but for the price you can't go wrong.

Thanks for the recommendation. I actually got an Axis DVD player from Walmart for $50 and have been really happy with it. It's got all the features I could want and has a nice picture so if it holds up well I'll be happy.

Now the question is: Where do you guys get your DVD's from? There's a place here locally where I can buy used DVD's for a decent price but the selection isn't that great. Any suggestions?

Thanks again.

I've bought many dvd's from this place, they almost *always* have the lowest total price on the web for non new releases. Free shipping!!! You can select 2-3 day for a few bucks, I like free though.

Search for these faves of mine, the prices are great:

Ronin
8MM
The Conversation
So I Married An Axe Murderer

Usually cheaper than eBay, because the shipping is free!
