PC Wonder Inc FRAUD

Just thought I would let the powers that be know that this company is ripping people off left and right.

They are selling Radeon 9500 pro and 9700 video cards as 9700 pro's. They are putting BS stickers on the OEM packages and passing them off to unsuspecting customers.

I would point out there rating is quite low, however, suspiciously they have received a lot of positive feedback in the last week. When I initially checked their rating they had 4 or 5 ratings all rating them as brutal to do business with and for shipping improperly labelled radeon's.

Now they have many positive feed backs some from months ago that have mysteriously showed up to boost their ratings.

I hope that someone from the resellers website is looking into this because now these guys are trying to bolster their image here.

Do not do business with PC Wonder INC

I'm sure Scott or another Mod will look into the issue when they see this thread (well since they are really omnipresent, and can travel through time at will they've probably already taken care of the problem a few minutes ).

Did you just buy from them?

I bought my card from them in the last few weeks but now have returned it for a refund. I wouldn't accept another deal with that company.

Ordered a 9700 Pro, got it very fast. Very pleased. Did have a mishap in that they shipped me the wrong product, but customer service went head over heels to please me. Very happy with purchase from PC Wonder Inc.

Similar experience

I've had the same problem. I ordered a bulk "built by ATI" 9700 pro and received a bulk "powered by ati" sapphire 9700 pro that performed and registered as a 9500. PCwonderinc is currently working with me to take care of this, and has already shipped a new card shortly after my initial complaint. They were kind enough to upgrade my order to the retail version for my trouble, and to include prepaid shipping forms for me to return the orignal card with.

I suspect that what is happening here, aside from a mix up in what was shipped to me, is that a batch of sapphire 9700 pros were flashed with the wrong bios. Does this sound reasonable?

Me too

PC Wonder is funny. They sent me a 9500 Pro with slow memory, clocked at 275/270, yet in the configuration of a 9700 Pro Reference, and labelled as a 9700 Pro. Now... I'm not saying they did this on purpose. In fact, they were very rapid in responding to my complaints about it, and have assured me that they have issued me a refund for my card, the shipping, and packaging materials.

As a value-added service to them, I will be notifying the Attorney General's office in FL (850-487-1963), The FL Dept of Agriculture and Consumer Services (countss@doacs.state.fl.us), the Federal Trade Commission (EConsumer Complaint Form), PriceGrabber, and Pricewatch that PC Wonder Inc. may need some 'assistance' in resolving some rather nasty internal affairs regarding possible fraud.

I truly hope they appreciate my assistance in this matter.

Cheers

-Tomas Rodriguez
