Kids Text scanners

Hi!
I am trying to find a scanner with good OCR software so that I can scan text easily. The scanner I have now is a few years old, was quite inexpensive when I purchased it, and always misreads words, formatting, etc. Any suggestions on makes/models I should check out? I'd like to keep the cost below $200 if possible. Thanks,
Merrikatt

You probably don't even need a new scanner, just newer software. Unless that old scanner is below 600 dpi optical resolution - 300 dpi just won't cut it for normal newspaper or book text sizes.

Thanks for the info. I just checked and Omnipage seems to be quite expensive, $300+ depending on the version. Does this seem correct? Are there any less expensive alternatives? Thanks again!

Yep, you have to pay alot for it. But it's the best OCR out there. We recently bought version 12 in office. It's very user frieldly and does great scanning. We have an HP ADF scanner which we use it on.
We also use it on an obselete Microtek scanner and it does it's job with no flaws.
