D@M! YOU FEDEX!

Those goons screwed up my overnight shipment. Ordered from NewEgg early yesterday with overnight for today. Order shipped in two parts. Noticed today that one tracking number stopped at "Left sort facility" in CA, while the other said "Out for delivery". Well, there have been many a times where there were glitches with my tracking numbers not even saying "Out for delivery" until later in the evening after already being delivered, so it was a bit alarming, but I thought to wait it out.

WELL, One package arrived. And after contacting FedEx, it seems the other half is still in CA. Freagin' figures. Rarely do I have ANY shipments in such a rush I need overnight or even two day. So it looks like I have to call a customer and loose some money. Thank you FedEx.

And I called NewEgg, they're not even willing to refund the difference I paid for over night ($26.07). I will argue with FedEx for the refund again Monday, but that will only go to NewEgg. So then I will have to call and argue with them. Sheesh. But I won't be arguing with the customer, he'll get his $26.07 back. He sure was ready for his major upgrade to be ready this weekend...that will be harder to handle than the shipping cost I'm out.

YOU SUCK FEDEX.
Ahhh, that makes me feel a little better...

A little disappointed in NewEgg. Though they have been so great in the past, I can't get too mad. Just a little disappointed...it was the service rep's rebuttal that was a little aggrevating: "Well, you did receive half the order." A lot of good the parts do me without the case to put them in!!!

How is FED-EX gonna blame Newegg if one package made its destination? I'm assuming your order for both parts was made at the same time to Newegg. If one package made it........surely the other could have also which leaves the blame on FED-EX so long as the orders were placed at the same time and/or picked up by the FED-EX driver from Newegg at the same time.

Yes, it was not NewEgg's fault, though they will have to be the ones to issue the refund for the shipping difference, as FedEx will only refund to the account to which it was charged, which belongs to NewEgg. It was one sales order, but shipped in two packages (their cases always ship single package).

Same thing happens to me all the time with parts orders. My last overnight arrived in about three days with FedEx. Claimed the delay was "beyond their control."

I have just learned to live with it. UPS is no better, and most vendors will not ship by Airborne Express. I now only buy from regional online vendors when I actually need parts overnight, so as to gaurantee shipping times.

It's always beyond their control, because THEY HAVE NO CONTROL over thier own process (ever since they lost that upper management fellow in that darn plane crash...oh wait, that was a movie).

I just recently moved, and the first package I received from FedEx had a delivery attempt to the wrong address. I called them up and asked them why it said "Business not open..." on the tracking site, when no FedEx slip was left on my door. Seems the local delivery guy is blind and can't read the small labels...heh heh. He tried to deliver the package to another address. Doesn't bother me though, as it's THEIR truck he's driving! They probably don't have optical benefits.

MEEP MEEP! WATCH OUT!

FEDEX is the WORST

i agree totally, I have ordered from newegg and various other online stores to come to the conclusion that fedex is the worst. They strive to be mediocre, My last package that came from california to indiana took 12 business days for 2 day shipping. They sent the package on the wrong plane from califonia, then shipped it back, then put it on a truck for illinois, which was correct, however they didn't scan the item so it appeared to sit in california fo another 5 business days. Every call to FEDEX became more frustrating as they didn't know where the package was. I finally got them to refund my shipping costs, but it took several phone calls.

in addittion, the mediocrity commment comes from another performance they had with a 3 day mail package. It was mailed form the Terre Haute, IN area to indianapolis,IN, a mere 1 hour and 20 minutes away. This was a package for a business, mailed on a monday, in iNDY on monday, the package sat there in the dock for 2 days so it could be delivered as late as possible on the last day. I realise they have many other packages, however, if they could beat the projected date, they might get alot more happy customers.

I try to avoid fedex and Airborne express at all costs, I suggest you do the same.

In my opinion, FedEx is the BEST!! I ordered some computer parts from Newegg.com and got 2nd day air. (Ordered Thrusday Night). It shipped on Friday and It was delivered tuesday of this week! (because monday was a holiday!) They delivered it 1 day early before the planned delivery date. They are much better than UPS because if the package was to arrive to my local hub early, fedex would deliver it, UPS will just leave the package there until the delivery date. Also, the packages I receive from FedEX is much better condition than any other shipping company! That is my opinion

I agree with imac. EVERY company will make a mistake now and then, and there really are things outside of their control. (like unpredictable weather, for example...) Plus if you're a worldwide company like that, it's practically guaranteed that you'll get some bad employees, and others just make a small mistake now and then (accidently grab only one box, instead of both - I'm sure you'd never do anything like that... ). There's no way anyone can prevent that. What you need to look at is which company makes the least mistakes. With the available options, that company is FedEx.

I've pretty much learned the drill on both of them and they have their good days and bad days. On balance, though, I'll go with Fedex when I can. They seem to do better around here with on-time delivery and if I miss them, the depot is only about a 10 minute drive. The local route driver will even deliver on Saturday to my residence if he's in the area.

UPS, OTOH is almost guaranteed to smash something, deliver late or somehow screw things up.

The pits, though, is the local Post Office branch. If it's Express Mail or Priority mail, it's a lead-pipe cinch it will get lost in that office. I once had payment for a guitar sent to me overnight Express mail from 75 miles away. It took them NINE DAYS to get it to me. Seems it had gotten wedged behind the delivery driver's seat. 9 days for 75 miles on what was supposed to be an overnight package. Sheesh! Even then it took me a couple of calls to the Postal Inspectors office in Washington DC to get them to even look for it.
