Need a cordless 2.4 phone, please advise.

Hi all,

I have a panasonic 900 that I got on a rebate deal a couple years ago and it's dying on me *sniff sniff* I also have a piece of garbage siemens 2.4 that has a lot of cool features, but the sound cuts out all of the time. so what I'm needing is a good 2.4 GHZ cordless on the cheap. Please recommend and also if you know of any good rebate deals, plz lemme know! I'll be eternally grateful.

Have a Uniden set with a base/speakerphone and 2 handsets and I really like it. Paid about $60 at Lowes.

A word of warning.... If you plan on getting wireless 802.11b or g these phones will knock your PC offline whenever you pick them up.

If that link doesnt work try http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...&s=electronics

I dont remember paying that much, but I have slept since then. You can get a single handset model for less. Overall I am very happy with them.

Thanks! I appreciate the replies so far. I do like the answering machine feature, and maybe then I can ditch the siemens phone. Any cheaper ones? (not trying to be picky!)

5.4 GHz Vtech digital phones are great when you are using wireless networking equipment. Not sure on the model I have.

This may sound ridicuous, but you can have two different brands of 2.4 running in the same house on the same line, can't you? I got a uniden yesterday and it clicks whenever I turn it on to talk. I'm taking it back, but I wanted to check on this first so I can decide whether to get another or just wait....
Thanks!
