government auctions? the deal??
Ok, I see all this stuff about govt auctions...you know the "buy a car for $500" type thing.

And all the info is supposedly this top secret junk you have to pay $49 to look at etc.

Surely there is a list of where these auctions are that you dont have to pay for.....surely the govt doesnt have "secret" auctions, lol.


has anyone here messed with these auctions?
is it worth it to order the info?

I am interested in bidding on comp equipment.

I ran a Google search in quotes police auctions and free ones to see the inventory are quite a few, my brother wanted to buy a Cisco router from www.propertyroom.com . I remember reading some place that the NYPD gives the stuff to them, but don't quote me on it...

I especially like the web site domain of www.stealitback.com

poopeyhed2 I've checked out stealitback.com a while back and didn't notice and real hot deals. I'm not sure when the feds. post there sale items at but would like to know also.

www.policeauctions.com looks pretty good, has a listing of the states that you live in. I just remembered about propertyroom.com if there's bulky items, I remember checking back about 5 weeks ago, they had an HP Colorlaser jet which was pickup only or if you have your a delivery agency that would deliver for you. I never really found any good deals from police auctions because half of hte stuff is incredibly old.

what about the GSA govt auctions? anyone ever attended or bought the info about them??

Since the govt wants to get rid of the stuff, it seems they would have a public listing of the auctions as opposed to all this secrecy and cloak and dagger stuff.

I would go there if you need something like a dot matrix printer for a business like where I work. We had one break down so we went to one of those here in Garland and got one for 10 bucks.
