Newegg weirdness??

Has anyone built a system from Newegg recently??

I built for a friend about 2 months ago or so, and no problem. Another bud wants to upgrade, so I was putting his stuff in a wishlist so I could email him.

Anyways, I went looking for a particular CPU HSF and could not find any... The category was gone, and what I could find were $45 slugs of copper heatsinks w/no fans- and then you'd have to surf over to the fan section... The only CPU HSFs I could find were heatsinks w/heat pipes...

I thought I was so clueless about the website, I called Newegg up. No mean feat, to get someone to answer their customer service phone number either. Anywho, they say their stock always changes and they direct direct me to the RAM heatsinks.

Go figure.

Has this been anyone else's experience? I can understand stock changing, but missing a whole catagory? Anybody got any info?

Yeah, I was a little confused last night as well. They put the CPU heatsinks in with the "Fans (Case, CPU, Chipset)" category.

I've had similar experiences with Newegg a couple times. What's funny is, you go on there the next day looking for the same thing, and it's all fixed. So, my advice, try it again tomorrow or the next day.

I just did that-- it was fixed.

I went looking for a Vantec Areoflow HSF, or any Vantec HSF for that matter last night. All I saw on both pages were fans. I just went back a few minutes ago and

<Poof!>

Heatsinks have magically reappeared.

Truly weird.
