Business Graphics Card Needed

Well, I broke down and bought a new Dell 1900FP LCD Monitor this week -- it's sweet!

Now I want a graphics card that can provide DVI out to make the picture even better!

So, can anyone recommend a cheap card that provides DVI out, and can comfortably handle a 1280 x 1024 resolution?

the term "cheap" is relative. Please give us an idea of the price range you are wanting to stay in. A readeon 7500 or 8500 woud be below $90, or you could get a xabre400 for sub $60. Try a "DVI video card" search on ebay. Since it's a business machine and not for gaming, I suspect that performance in Quake 3 is not an issue.

ATI has always given better text than Nvidia cards, maybe thats changed, but its been that way for the Geforce/Radeon period.

ATI and Matrox have offered me excellent business class graphics. I think I would have to give the edge to Matrox, though.

Probably more than you're looking to spend, but it's a nice card.

$60 for a 3dLabs Oxygen GVX1 with DVI... Definitely a professional card.

Thanks for the responses.

Since it's a business PC (800 Mhz PIII), I'd like to keep the cost as low as possible. Sub $50 would be great. I don't need a GeForce 4 or a Radeon 9700, just something that provides DVI and enough power to comfortably display a 1280 x 1024 screen.

I do work in PhotoShop from time to time, but I don't need extreme graphics power since I won't be running any games on the machine.

I'll look at the suggestions aready posted -- thank you to all.

Anyone else with a suggestion, I'm open to those as well!

A Geforce 3 Ti 200 is an excellent card, and available for cheap, as are the Geforce 2 MX cards... all will work just fine.....

Or the ATI Radeons...

Or the Matrox G400 or G500series...

All relatively cheap and good cards.
