My wife and I like the Panasonic cordless phones. Ours worked great until it suffered an ugly and painfull death. (I taught it to fly in an angry moment!) We currently have a GE 2.4Ghz cordless with the built in digital answering machine. It works great. The only annoyance we have with it is when we use our microwave. The base is about 3 feet away from the microwave and every time we nuke something, it creates a gawd awful static noise on the phone.

I have two Panasonics I got from E-bay for about $40.00 ea. They are 2.4G and work like a champ, clear as a land line.

I've got a VTech VT2461 2.4 w/Digital Answering Machine. There are 3 different "voicemail" boxes, just tell people to hit 1, 2, or 3, and each box has it's OWN password. Handy for roommates or if you have an ad in the paper.

I bought it for $130 at Best Buy, then took it back when I got it for $90 on eBay. That was just over a year ago, and it works great. I picked up an extra battery ($9) on eBay too, as well as a headset adapter ($8). Now *that* is handy if you're on hold. Forget about speakerphone, put the phone on your belt and unload the dishwasher! Bonus- When on my cell at home, the headset adapter is the same size as my Sprint PCS phone.

The best part? I live in a secured building, with two garages below me. I was in the BOTTOM garage on this phone and STILL had a crystal clear signal. I can almost go check my mail in the lobby before it beeps out of range. Hands down the best phone I've ever used.

I know they've come down in price alot, I've never had a problem with it. I had a VTech 900mhz before this one, and it worked great, too.

I am a huge VTech fan.

Thanks for all the input guys (and gals)!
Panasonic must have improved on there quality, last one my father owned was junk. Of course this was some 10 years ago and things have changed a bit.
Surreal, those are sharp looking phones. Any idea where they sell them in the retail channel?
