Food Vote for the BEST MIRs...

Well, since someone is asking about your worst experiences with Mail-In Rebates(MIR) then I am curious to know what rebate offers have been the best for you.

Personally, my best experience with MIRs was with Logitech. I bought a cordless joystick, Z-560 speakers, MX700 mouse, and two dual optical mice and two elite keyboards from them all at different times with different rebate offers. Every time I received the rebate check no later than 6 weeks from when they received my receipt and MIR info. And, they even would email me to tell me that they had mailed the rebate and sent a tracking number too!! Now that's service!

What have been your best experiences?

David

Linksys. I've received a rebate check for every Linksys component I own, and that's a lot.

Staples overall are the quickest, fry's by far is the worst as I still have not received my $50.00 rebate I mailed back at the end of November.

WB

BTW David, it appeares rebates have more to do with the store where you buy them from then any one paticular manufacture, at least in my exp.

Yes, you're right WB... In my experience though, on average the manufacturer's direct rebates seem to be honored with less hassle than hose that go through third-party rebate companies and through chain stores(i.e. Best Buy, Fry's, etc.) Staples is pretty good though.

I agree w/ WB:

Staples may have dropped a hair, since they are now being serviced by our favorite MIR folks, RebatesHQ - lol! But it seems that Staples is watching these Miami folks pretty closely.

I also have gotten all Western Digital rebates within 4 weeks, so they're right up there at the top of my list.

Even though I haven't sent off any Microsoft rebates in awhile, I always got my rebate from them within 4 weeks.

Worst experience has been from I/OMagic - at one time, a couple of years ago, they were six months behind in their rebates, and you had to contact them, or you wouldn't get the rebate at all.
They may have gotten better, but it's too late - I don't buy I/O Magic components at all anymore. I still think they owe me about $50.

Buslink is being added to my BAD list. I received the BestBuy part of the CD-RW rebates w/in 4 weeks ; Buslink still owes me three rebates - it's been over three months, so I should have received at least one of them by now.
Speak of the devil - just got my first Buslink rebate in the mail today. It was for a 40x burner that I bought sometime in December - still, way too long to have to wait for a rebate.
