where to buy network equip?

Hey guys,
Looking to buy a punch down tool, and wire for a punch block.
Have no idea where to even get this type of thing since never purchased before.
Any help appreciated!

As a telephone/data cabling installer, I have found that Home Depot has very good pricing for punch tools. What type of wire are you looking for (i.e. cross connect wire?)

Great thanks, hadn't even thought of home depot, thought I'd have to find a speciality network shop.
On the wire, I believe so, the punchdown is already setup with all the ports coming to one side, and then the other side breaks out to rj45 ports, so to make a port in the office active, I need to run wire from one side of the punch to the other side, then plug cable from the rj45 slots to the switch.
I did one port before, with a knife, and that wasn't any fun.
Gotta add 5+ ports this time, and figured it was time to spring for a tool.
So, on the wire, I was just going to look at the gauge we had and buy the same stuff? Is that good enough?

Send a message via AIM to jrock
I have also had good luck on the tools from Home Depot and Lowe's

If what you did last time worked, I would do the same thing. You can probably find the wire you need at Home Depot or Lowes as well. If you decide you need a cable contractor, let me know, and I can recommend one pretty much anywhere.

Good Luck!
