CompUSA wins hands down. I avoid grabbing deals there because I'm guaranteed that before the rebate arrives, the price will have dropped.

EPO Technology, it took them nearly four months just to let me know they had gotten my rebate. Still awaiting the check.

I guess the worst one Ive done was a logisys monitor from officemax..it went thru the people in scottsdale Az...I sent in the paperwork, got the obligatory rejection postcard..called immediately and the lady said "were no longer handling logisys rebates"....hehe....I was like "uhh, well I have a slip in my hand saying that I still have 1 week to resubmit"...."sir, your not listening to me, were not handling any logisys rebates at this time"....."may I speak to your supervisor please"....."no, not for this you cant"...!!!!!!!! lol. She also told me I was trying to get blood from a turnip.

Anyway, I got the rebate back from OM one way or the other. The lady at OM told me that scottsdale was still supposed to be taking the rebates. Anyway, that was the worst as far as the lady being outright rude considering I had a card from her in my hand saying that I had another week to resubmit etc.

I still got the money..although rebates can be a drag, I have gotten every rebate back since I started keeping copies of everything etc...the only rebate Ive lost since then was the $165 peachtree that I forgot to send in on time! OUCH!

Oooh, I would have been so tempted to call that lady back every day.

That's what I did with EPO. I called and he kept saying call back next week. After three weeks, I started calling every day. I was extremely polite and the guy never appeared to get annoyed.

Office Max is VERY slow. Usually taking 3 months sometimes longer.

Why does it take them 8 seconds to take $20 out of your accounts, but 8 weeks to put it back in?

yeah blazer has it right on why even bother with the rebate oh yeah because most people dont send them in

I think you're on to the genius behind rebates. They send rebates one of two ways:
1. Late
2. Not at all

Either way, who wins?

Last time a rebate was late, I called the place up 7 times a day for 4 days, and sent them a total of 17 emails. I got the rebate 3 days later.
