Yes, the regular prices are inflated, but when they need to get rid of stuff, they throw it in the discount bin and it's ridiculously cheap.

A friend of mine used to work at CompUSA, and he handles inventory and such... He told me (I was buying a KVM switch and cables) that cables have the highest markup hands down of anything. he said it was something like a 1200% markup!

He gave me an awesome discount, and i ended up paying cost +10%. Saved a TON of cash!

Also check Big Lots. They have USB & printer cables at cheap prices. It's not the first place you think of when looking for stuff like that.

all major pc chain stores pork you on cables. it is greed baby.
find an electronic supply house they sell them for less than anyone. you know the place you go to to buy rheostats etc and i don't mean radio shack .....all their crap is just that CRAP
