"EMPTY" Ink Cartridges NOT EMPTY !
Hooo-Haaaaa !
Had abunch of cheapo ink cartriges, both B and C.
Ran out of the C-cartridges first.
My printer would not print with an EMPTY cartridge.
So I removed it. And Replaced it with ITSELF !
Guess what ?
Printer said cartidge was "Full" and C-cartridge printed perfectly !
Trick was to go to "properties" when not requiring color and select Black. This saved the remainer of Color cartridge longer.
Here's why this works:
Printers don't measure by Sensors the Actual amount of ink left--only, the NUMBER of printed pages using that cartridge. And they OVERestimate the useage by page for and obvious reason--to get you to buy another cartridge before you actually have to !
So next-time your Printer says a Cartridge is EMPTY, just take it out and put it back ijn again and go happily printing some more until it's REALLY exhausted. Not just "supposed" to be.
Don't know if this would work with those '3-seperate-tank' cartridges, but don't see any reason why it won't. So long as their is 'counting', and not a 'senser' in each tank, it should work !
