Talk A little Best Buy revenge...

OK, first, I've had mixed experiences at BB. Some folks have treated me well. Other times, when I had a problem of one sort or another, I've been totally yanked around.

I've learned not to seriously shop for computer stuff there, unless I need it RIGHT NOW. I don't do the disappearing rebate hassle with anybody, and their prices are only so-so.

BUT... today I was in there for some other stuff and just cruised the hard drives and video cards aisle. Lo and behold, there was a PNY Verto GeForce Ti4200 64Meg marked at $79.99

I knew it had to be a mistake, and really, my budget didn't have a vidcard in it right now at any price, but I grabbed one anyway. Sure enough, it scanned at the register at $169.99. Well 10 or 15 minutes of messing around later (I got out of the way so the other folks could check out), I walked out with it at the marked price and the manager was busy getting the shelf tag changed.

After the past yanking around by them, I figure we're even now. But their computer section is still one of the LAST places I look for gear.

Take a wander over to your local BB and see if they goofed too.

lol good buy.
one time our stocking dept. forgot to change prices for a new wireless keyboard mouse combo, and a customer raised hell and got the kit for the price of a cheapo wired keyboard!

I remember when I 1st got my current All-In-Wonder gfx card, it was originally priced at £139.99, but due to a similar error at PC World, I managed to get it for £79.99 - the price of the most basic of the range.....

Could actually see a member of staff running to the back of the shop as I was leaving!! hehehe

The cool thing about this was it was exactly the right SKU, the right product, model number etc., they just goofed on the price. Had 'em dead to rights

Wen three times to BB when that $79.99 deal was happenning - of course they never had any, even right after the "truck" had come in.
Ad wasn't in the week's sale ad, so no raincheck either.

Went yesterday, and they had 6 of those cards @$169.99

The associate informed me of that "fulfillment' deal,(I think someone might have brushed on this on the original thread), whereby I, in fact, could have ordered one for $79.99, and when they came in, could have been shipped to me for free.
At least now I know of this deal. . .

ALL RIGHT! Good deal! I have the same card and it performs VERY WELL. My mom went to Wal-Mart and got my sis a CD player with a car kit for 50 bucks (originally marked 80!!).

About time someone stuck it to them.

I'm sure you loved every second of that deal, a "shopping general" calculating the correct words to say while negotiating the buy. After all, BB people IME have always done there best to wiggle there way out of any situation. I'm sure you had a big grin when exiting there store.

I guess there store could truelly be called "Best Buy" on that day.
