Misc "Arm" brand laptop

I can get an "Arm" laptop at a good price.
It seems to be a good unit and has all the usual good components.

Have you heard anyting good or bad about this company?
They are located in SanJose, Calif.

I've never heard of them before.

What sort of warranty does it have? Does it seem like the company will still be around by the end of that warranty?

They look somewhat reputable.

They claim to be around since 1986 and I've seen some of their products at local computer shows and they have surprisingly high resale values. Looks like they make a good product.
Just my $0.02.

I have bought an Arrm Laptop about 18 months ago.
Had been happy with it until the battery would not hold a charge anymore even though I had hardly used it. (That was probably a mistake).
After buying a new battery from the company I found that the charging unit inside the laptop was the problem.
It's part of the motherboard and it would cost at least another $500.- to replace it.
In the meantime I have contacted the company and they have offered to give me $ 140.- rebate on another ( and for me upgraded) computer + buy the battery back.

I think that this is a very good offer since the unit has been out of warranty for at least 6 months.
I was just wondering if I would buy more problems in the long run.
So, thanks for your thoughts and also for your "$.02", -Kc2iLq

The only thing I can see that would make me pause is they appear to be using desktop processors for their notebooks...the desktop P4 as opposed to the Mobile P4.

The performance isn't that much better, and they usually run very hot and battery performance is very poor.

Also, I meant to mention that I have compared the Arm Laptop with the equivalent of the Toshiba Satellite online and found that the Toshiba was at least $200.- more.
Warranty is the standart 12 months but can be extended for more $.
Tech support was good for the couple of times I have used it.
The other good thing is that it comes with the WinXP CD.

Anyway, I appreciate all of your feedback. Ann

Yes rastorize, I have been wondering about about using the desktop P4 also.
Maybe this was my problem in the past.
I have decided to go with their "ArmNote CY 25" which uses the P4 Mobil.
