DivXv5 (which the kiss player supports) is supposed to be completely rewritten and not based on the hacked ms asf codec.
I believe that is the reason divx3 isn't supported on the players.
Xvid is open source, and superior (imo) to divx - so I'd rather see a xvid player that supports all the encoding algorithms.
The price of the kiss player (which came out at the last quarter of last year costed something like 450€ (roughly $450).
