CompUSA deals are not true!!!!!!

I rember last time CompUSA had a similar big sale, many stuff are said to be free after rebate. So I believed CompUSA cheaters and bought a lot of junks. But they never sent me back the rebate I should get. Totally over $200! For one whole year I kept sending them letters to inquiry, but cheaters are cheaters, they never responded.

Though it's too late to argue about this, I'll file official complaints to state and federal departments. And friends, don't even give a penny to CompUSA any more!

CompUSA is one of the worst, but there are others.

But getting rebates takes patience. You have to follow directions to the letter, keep copies, and make the appropriate phone calls when you don't hear back.

If you've been shortchanged to the tune of $200 and you have copies of all your documentation, keep after then until you're satisfied.

Of course, if you're like the 2/3 of people who lose things or don't keep copies, well, it's just too bad. You've learned a $200 lesson, haven't you?

Well, compusa isn't the best, but they do have some really nice deals at times..

Take for example, they are advertising a 120 gig harddrive (generic, but is actually a maxtor, even boxed in a maxtor box) for 149.99 , - a instant 30.00 off and a 40.00 rebate...

So even if I don't get the rebate, I got a 120 gig , 7200 rpm hard for 109.99. Thats a sweet deal.

I was just told over the phone that my $45 CF modem rebate will be delayed "because the vendor extended the time" or some crap like that.. The original date they were supposed to mail it to me was a month ago and I have no idea when it'll now show up.

CompUSA rebates are IMPOSSIBLE to get. If you push for other rebates (like staples, officemax etc) you eventually get them, but CompUSA rebates don't ever come.

I think rebates are a shady business practice... why doesn't compusa just give you the $30 and compusa themselves pursue the rebate claim.. if they have a mass of them.. wouldn't it be more streamlined?

But the companies offering these rebates lean on the fact that a lot of people might not turn in the rebate or maybe denied for some trivial reason..

Rebates are almost getting as bad as EULA's

My experience hasn't been that bad. Have got all rebates and even pricematching. But Staples is far better.
