I ordered a Linksys Wireless booster on Saturday from Amazon and it's sitting on my doorstep as I write this. Free shipping. I've had similar experiences with Googlegear and Newegg. If Amazon, Googlegear, and Newegg can do this so well, why can't everyone?

Given some of my recent experiences, I am sorely tempted to shop only at those three stores. Shopping anywhere else seems to invite inferior service.

Good point. Think of the dozens of marketing arrangements Amazon has with all sorts of other companies and they manage to keep things straight and get things right 99% of the time.

We have a computerized purchasing system where I work called EZ-Req and it is absolutely the worst on-line ordering system you can imagine. Every time I submit an order, they send a little "satisfaction survey", to which I always reply, "Why can't you have an ordering system as easy as Amazon.com?"

Good question

It does seem simple enough but it seems only a handful of on-line stores can pull off - good prices- good customer service.

I would add BUY.com, personally I have had good results (I know some haven't) when I actually order something but a lot of their inventory is on back order.

also cyberguys.com
