planning to buy a laptop

I'm planning to buy a laptop computer.
Have been looking at the Toshiba 2410-S206 for about $1,372.00
online.
Does anybody have good or bad experience with Toshiba?
Do you have any other suggestions and good places to buy ?

Make sure it has the 'Mobile' version of the CPU as Toshiba has alot of times used the desktop version of the Pentium 4 or the Celeron, and it gets too hot then starts to crash. Several people I know of have had this problem. Just make sure it's the Mobile P4 or Celeron, and you should be fine.

the price sounds about right.. and the last toshiba lappy i used was able to handle all the abuse.

I have had 2 toshiba's, and both took the punishment I dished out, and had plenty to spare... quality laptops, and decent performance/price. Can't go wrong. Decent support as well.

I will make sure to get the Mobil P4 chip.
The Toshiba sounds great. Does anybody have any problems with the CDRW/DVD Combo?

Also, I saw a "Fujitsu" Notebook for $1209.99 (after all the rebates) at Fry's Electronics.
It's a P4- 2.0 GHz. with CD-RW/DVD Combo, 256MB DDR, 30 GB HDD, 15"XGA TFT, USB 2.0, v90 56K Modem, WinXP Home.
The price sounds great for all of those features.

Do you know anything (good or bad) about Fujitsu?
