Kids Spoofee Forums Registration

I tried to register for the Spoofee forums this morning and discovered that you have to print out an e-mail, then sign and mail it into them in order to register. I was thinking of registering so that I could post what few deals I come across, but I'm not going to jump through hoops like this just to be able to post! Anybody else of the same mind? It's the first board online that I've found with such a requirement.

Please reconsider. It’s a fun forum and I would love to see it thrive.

The snail mail was not a condition when I registered just a few weeks ago. I don’t know the reason for it, but it is just a stamp, and they don’t require an original UPC code!

Does the email contain any promises that you are signing?

Hmmm........I just registered on the 6th and I didn't have to do that. Wait a minute........You can make somebody mail something on PHPBB forums. I have one and you can only make it so the member is automatically activated, you activate yourself via email, or the mod has to activate you. Maybe you are talking bout COPPA.

What does it matter what BB software it's using...it obviously requires you mail it in and are manually registered.
It isn't about the stamp, its about the pain in the a** and jumping through hoops.

No, he isn't under 13. I looked at his profile and was born in '76. Well, I will see about this. I don't see how you can make it so you have to mail it in. Ther is no setting to do that unless you are very good at modifying the PHPBB scripts.

I was born in 1976 and am about double 13. The e-mail did say something about COPPA; I deleted it when I read it though, so I can't go back and C&P it. No clue as to why it was sent to me and seems like not to anybody else though. BTW, what the heck is COPPA anyways? Another new try-to-save-our-kids-from-the-demons-of-the-internet legislation that people will realize is totally ineffective because the kids know more than their inattentive parents in another year or two?

I'd like to join in at other forums so I can contribute something instead of just reading the deals that other people post. However, I'm not going to go through BS in order to do so.

It didn't contain any promises or anything that I remember, just some consent form. Maybe the date routines are screwed up and it thinks I'm under 13???

You clicked on the wrong link (the middle one):

Email them to point out you made a mistake and process the registration as normal ...
Or see if you can register again under another name & email.
