Newegg question...

Doesnt newegg offer a motherboard combo package? Or do I have to choose both?

I'd put this in Buyer Guidance Section for better visibility.

And yes I believe they do have combos and they are often cheaper than buying MB/CPU separately.

Multiwave (www.mwave.com) sells pre-tested mobo combos and is a company I used to deal with a lot. I haven't needed combos recently, so I have dealt with Newegg almost exclusively, but MWave is a great alternative with low prices.

I have not seen combos at newegg and I looked for them.

I checked out the Epox EP-8RDA and XP1700+ combo and it is about $10 more expensive than buying separately at newegg and that is without assembly and testing.

But, it is an OK solution for someone who doesn't want to screw with attaching their HSF to the CPU to the mobo.

Newegg does combos. Click on the processor or motherboard you want. At the bottom of the item description you'll see Only 1 Combo per order and a list of discounts for ordering certain items together.

If you want to see a list of all their combo deals without looking up each individual item, go to their main page, look on the left of the page for the picture of a pizza. Or click here.

AnakiMana, I kind of see your point - I have gotten two "combos" from newegg this week - free t-shirt with purchase of Windows XP Pro Academic and free chaintech FM radio (real piece of cr*p) with purchase of Chaintech mobo.

But, my idea of a combo is mobo, CPU, HSF all gooped together so it is ready to be thrown into a case. That's what Mwave does. They even give the option of having memory installed too.

newegg doesn't quite do that.
