Anyone who expects Tech Support from a "Clearing House" type dealer like the geeks is dreaming, this ain't what they do. They sell closeouts and stuff from bankrupt companies and system pulls
Returns are another item totally. If the item is bad, they should honor the warranty.
In my case, they've done everything promised in the product description, no less.
No vendor is 100%, they all have employees who are lax in their duties, generally I'd give the Geeks a big thumbs up.
Anyone who doubts the volume of my orders from them,, PM me and I'll e-mail you the full extent of my orders, get ready for a large file as it's several pages long.

I used CompGeeks to get a CDRW drive they had as a geeks special and used a geek code to get a free cd stomper kit. Everything came really fast and was packed with peanuts. I love CompGeeks. The only thing you need to be sure is to use FedEx because its always cheaper and to make sure you print out your receipt so if it does get canceled, you have proof you paid for it.

As a large volume customer, you would know best, of course.
I guess this shows the fallacy of consumer rating services like ResellerRatings , where 380 random whiners can give a decent company a seriously bad reputation. No matter how many times you add zero, you still get zero. |

Most of the problems is associated with UPS shipping. They ship and half the time they break something. Thats why places like NewEgg use Fedex. The happy people on resellerratins have indicated to me that they used fedex to ship and the ones who hate the company used UPS. There is a trend here.

Yeah, like my friend who ordered a 8x4x32 cdrw and got a 4x4x32. Same brand so that must be an honest mistake but my friend didn't think so. He gave them a bad attitude about it and showed no patience with them so they gave him a runaround.
They're just people like us who didn't sleep well last night, fighting with the wifey, tv's broke, etc On my last order (asus mobo) I made a billing mistake and the geeks emailed me for corrections. After that it's in shipment. All that took 12 days since I've ordered to get to my house. That mistake delayed me but the geeks were pretty prompt about it. I'll still do business with them and just be patience.

I've ordered from the Geeks successfully. Never had to return an item however, just had an item missing from my order, which they rectified fairly promptly.
I continue to use CompGeeks.

Same here.. will continue to use them. However, little things like fans and cables (power, not ide) will come from my local frys because its economical that way than playing $10 shipping for $10 dollar items.

| This is exactly why I cannot reccomend them to anyone anymore, and will not be buying from them in the future.
They gave me the runaround trying to get replacement on something they claimed at order time had a warrenty. Very bad business practices. Ordering from them is like playing russian roulette. You might get 7 good orders (non-defective) in a row, or the first one might need a return/replacement, then you're pretty well screwed.
