Kids Thoughts on PDA's

I am shopping for a new PDA. I currently have a Palm m500 and i am passing it down to my girlfriend. Does anyone know of any goods deals on any newer models. I definetely want one with color and i want a pocket PC as opposed to one that runs the Palm OS.

Any thoughts???

Look into the Viewsonic V35 or the HP iPaq 1910. Both models are $299.99, but the Viewsonic is 100 MHz faster than the HP. Both are color PocketPC's. You can find both PDA's on display at your local CompUSA.

My boss has a Dell Axim and likes it. More info is at http://www.dell.com/us/en/bsd/produc...es_pda_snp.htm . one of the benefits would be that it's through Home and Small Business, which usually seems to have deals floating around.

thanks for the info.
those were actually the three that i was looking at. I like the dell, but it is hard for me to judge a pda without actually seeing it in person..

I realize that Sony uses Palm, but I have the Clie SJ33 and love it. It does as much as most Pocket PC's.

I have to disagree with you on that one. What most people don't understand is that the PocketPC is based on an operating system that you're already familiar with--WINDOWS! Other benefits of using a PocketPC include seamless (and I do mean seamless) integration with every-day use programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook. Yeah, there's such a thing as Documents-To-Go, but why not get it right in the first place?

And what about expansion options? GPS, 802.11b, bluetooth.... you name it. Screw WAP.

Dell or the Sony. Dell if you use alot of MS stuff and need integration, or if you just want a windows based pilot. Sony if you want basic functions quick and with no fluff.

i had a Palm a while back, never used it much. don't think it would be worth getting another one at this point. i'd go for a laptop or the Dell as they have more options/features. my opinion
