I wouldnt buy ether. For one reason they both use a 2mb cache.

This drive

Would probably be your best choice. And is only 10 dollars more.

OEM(Drive alone) 3 Year Manufacturer Warranty
I think this is prolly the $10 difference. Is an extra 2 year warranty and 6mb buffer worth $10 to ya?Would be to me
The warranty alone would be worth that kind of change if hte drive dies 2 years down the road

look a this page again http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...ion=22-144-122

notice there is a fefurbished drive at the bottom. Its only $75. I dont see a warrenty though. Can you find one? If there is no warrent then there isn't a point.

Erg, you're gonna want a warranty with a hard drive. Drives even fail in a year (like the 80Gig I got for christmas ).

I've found the 8mb cache really doesn't make a diffrence unless you are transfering/working with large files, or are using the swap file extensively. I would like to say I see a diffrence, but I really don't in my everyday work (surfing the net, e-mail, downlaoding, game playing, sometimes playing with gmax and winmorph, and, of using Microsoft Office (I know, M$ is evil and crap. But other than WordPerfect, I really haven't found much better than Office 97)).

Of course, if speed really matters that much, go one step further into the wonderful world of SCSI drives. Only *slightly* more expensive
