Buyxtremegear ?

are there problems with them again? most of the reviews do sound like they're soliciting their 'successful' buyers to come back and leave reviews.

my problem is posted there, here's a copy:

Quote:
like AIscientist below, i ordered the powercolor radeon 9700 pro oem video card from them on the 24th. i did recieve an e-mail the next day it was on backorder until the 28th...it's now 2 business days later (not counting the weekend) and no update on the order status and no video card.

unfortunately, i used a credit card (Discover) and i have no idea what to do now. if anyone can help me out, or gimme a suggestion on how to proceed with this, i'd appreciate it. it was almost $280 and i can't afford to lose that kind of money! click contact or profile to the right next to my name...
i'm still holding out hope that maybe it was delayed an extra day or two and was/will be shipped out and maybe they're just too lazy to update their status site....but reality is setting in, and now i have no idea how to get my money back, or even check to see if my card has been charged. can i check this online? is there a way for discover card customers to do this?

ok they have not charged the card yet, how do i stop them from charging the card if they suddenly decide to try? or do you think i should hold out and see if they come through and charge/ship the product?

I would think that after reading the reviews of this site you would have steered clear of ordering this card.
Sorry, i'm not trying to be rude but i've thought of buying a couple of XP1700's from them and in doing the reading fromm RR I noticed they seem to be pulling the bait an switch routine on vid cards.
Your best bet might be to cancel the order, but then again when other folks have done this there order seems to suddenly show up at the door within a couple of days.

[unfortunately, i used a credit card (Discover) and i have no idea what to do]

The good news is that you used a CC, this gives you the option of contesting the charge if they do not send you what you ordered.
I think your going to have to play the wait and see game at this point, seems other people have tried to get things taken care of by phone without much luck.

I've been burned a couple of times over the internet with buying stuff using credit cards...
BUT, my credit card companies were more than happy to look into the matter, and I always ended up getting my money credited back to my account.
Just call your CC company if it's been a long time, and they should take care of it....
Well, I guess I've never had a Discover card though... So I don't know how they work.
