Kids Time for an upgrade... what to get?

Hi. I've got a fairly new system (about two months old) and feel that it needs something. I'm not really sure what it needs, but I feel it's missing something. Current specs:

Gigabyte GA-7DPXDW+
Dual Athlon MP 1.2's
80gig WD HDD
SB Audigy
eVGA GF4 MX 440 (It's not a gaming rig, so this is fine)
16x DVD-ROM
24x10x40 CD-RW

I was thinking about rounded cables or something to make it look cool but not sure what to get. Any suggestions?

I bought some rounded cables from a friend of mine and they seem to cool down my processor temps and make the system look sweeter. Does anyone know where I can get a pair of really fast (high output) 60mm fans for less than like $15? I really like the noise that fans make (I find it soothing) and why not let them cool my processors while they're making all this noise!

KD Computers has a good selection of 60mm screamers. Check out the high speed 60mm Deltas. They're sure to send a chill up your spine!

www.svc.com has 38CFM 60mm Deltas for 2.49 a peice. One of the highest performance 60mm's ever made, but they were so loud that they werent desired by anyone but the most hardcore. I guess thats why thier marked down so low now. Thier not...soothing tho. Two would probably be brain numbing. They also have a Sunon one that puts out 40CFM and 1 more dB for 50c more.

I'd say upgrade the Heatsinks to 80mm models and put some moderate RPM 80mm fans on, which will cool just as well as the best 60mm's, yet produce much less, lower pitched noise. But since your a fan of noise (though I'd let ya know, your the first one I've ever met), maybe you should upgrade something else.

Well if you want aesthetics, hit up SVC and pick and choose what you like.

If you want performance..get more RAM? I dont know how much you have now, so I cant tell with that, but its the easiest way to improve performance on a Dual rig.

What do you do on this machine? If you listen to music or movies, get a nice new pair of z-680's. Judging from your fondness of fan noise though, I'd make an assumption that your not.

Wireless keyboard/mouse is a good suggestion. The wireless is just a perk really, as Logitech's wireless series are some of the best keyboards I've ever used. Since your nto a gamer, the wireless mouse that comes with the Cordless combos may suit you very well. I suggest the Cordless Elite Duo.

I'll hop over to svc and see what I can put together. Those Delta screamers sound pretty cool. Just FYI, I am an audiophile and have a beautiful 5.1 DD PL2 system hooked up to my system through the audigy. The music I listen to is mostly recorded jamband concerts and there is enough white noise in the music that I don't even hear the computer. Because I ALWAYS have a show playing, I never hear the computer anyway.
Thanks for the input guys, and I'll let ya know what I end up doing.

Clear side panels that show off the inside coupled with blue or green interior lights are really cool. Go here:

for a good selection. Jim
