PII Compaq lappy?

A friend of mine has a PII compaq presario lappy that he is selling.

He wants 150-200 for it.

Its PII 300mhz

DVD rom

64mb ram

6gig hdd space

Win98fe

14in display.


Is this a good deal? Should I buy?
Is there any one here who would like to buy it through me if I dont get it my self?

That would be a fair price. I see P 166, 48 MB RAM and 12" screen laptops go for 200 on E-Bay.

$200 is outrageous fo the p166 mentioned above.

for the p2 system quoted, i would go no higher than $150. the reason being that you will need to add more memory (64mb is too limited) so you will wind up spending nearly $200 in the end for a really usable machine. probably more if you need a replacement battery.

I have seen a P133 lappie go for 200+ on eBay so its a good deal.

I just got $250 in trade for a similar Gateway PII-266, only with 256M of RAM and a slightly larger HDD. So that number is in the ballpark. Mine had NIC and modem cards with it, too.

Does any one want it? I dont know if I have the money to get it with the computer Im currently building.

I am glad to see several others post that they thought the $200 was not out of line. I did not say that it was a smokin' deal, just a fair price.

If you don't agree, go to Ebay and see what people are paying !!!!!! Sometimes less and sometimes more.

In fact, go here and check out this P II 300 that I think IS overpriced. And then $200 doesn't look bad for the one this post is about.
