Outdoors Staples rebates proof of purchase

I asked this question on their Rebate Center customer service site but got back a generic response that shows they obviously didn't bother to actually read my question.

So I figure someone here in this august body of traders must know the answer.

On the rebate form it says to "tape receipt or invoice here". I ordered online and have no receipt or invoice. All I have is the packing slip and it has "This is not an invoice" plastered across it. Will they accept that as proof of purchase?

I am a regular Staples rebater. That is the form I always send them. Remember keep copies of the rebate form, UPC and the receipt/packing slip.

Yes they accept it. You can also print out the order as well as the order status and send that too but they accept that pink one with NOT AN INVOICE.

Staples are pretty lenient and evn accept xerox of UPC. Initially they reject it and you can see the status on www.rebateshq.com as well as they send a postcard.

Call this number: 1-888-856-9210 and tell them you had to send in for multiple rabates or whatever. They will tell you that as a one time courtesy they will validate it.

Good Luck. (Works everytime.)

I sent in the invoice I printed from the web site and got my rebates with no hassles.

The term This is not an invoice means this:

Do Not Pay as this is NOT a Bill.

They merely send it for your records and is not a demand for payment.

I've used them for years to get rebates, ZERO problems with Staples Rebates.

Thanks, Doc. I figured as much, but I haven't heard a thing on my last Staples rebate, so I was wondering if I sent in the wrong proof. Guess I'll wait some more. I tried entering my info in their rebate status search, but it says they haven't received anything yet. It's been weeks.

That's not a good sign, M:

I would say to send in your copies again, but if you say it has been weeks, my guess is that they would not accept it.

Perhaps your next step should be to contact Staples support. But, realistically, they have every right to deny your rebate, because it seems every rebate form says something to the effect that they're "not responsible for lost or re-directed mail," etc.

Even if you did send in the "wrong proofs," you should still be registered, and status saying "postcard sent."

If you do not get your rebate, I am truly sorry, as there are quite a few of us "rebate hound" members here. We "feel your pain."

Best of luck with that. Hope it wasn't too big of a rebate.

- Bill

My biggest gripe is rebateshq, this site is just not properly maintained, in my case, lists rebates fron 2001, and not ones that are current,

Low and behold I got a check from Staples out of the blue yesterday. The rebate they had no record of showed up in the mail. Nice when things finally go your way.
