SVC to give away Clear Acrylic Case!
Quote: Taken from email:
Over the past year SVC has brought you a large number of products at prices which were previously unheard of. Round cables, CCFL kits, LED fans, UV fans and cables, and more. As a result of all these great deals, it was difficult at times for us to keep up with all of your orders and our service level was inconsistent (as seen in all the controversy surrounding SVC in the online forums). As a young company, SVC experienced many growing pains, but over the past few months we have been hard at work building new infrastructure, and increasing our processing overhead. Just a couple months away from our second anniversary, SVC has finally realized sufficient economy of scale to provide you with consistently excellent speed and service while continuing to lower our prices each day.
Our resellerratings are 9.33 for the month of February (6.92 for the past 6 months), and they will continue to rise. To speed the process, and to promote the rating of vendors in general, SVC will be giving out a FREE CLEAR ACRYLIC CASE on March 31 to a randomly selected customer who has left resellerratings for SVC. To qualify, you must (1) leave a resellerrating, and (2) email freecase@svc.com with your order number and your resellerrating user id. The winner will be announced at www.svc.com no later than March 31, 2003.

It would seem that in certain circumstances promo's to encourage ratings are permited... from the faq
"Q: Can I hold a contest or offer discounts to encourage my customers to submit reviews to ResellerRatings.com?
A: Yes, but only if you explicitly state that the nature of the customer's opinion, positive, negative, or neutral, will have no bearing on your offer, and that you are simply seeking customer critiques of their ordering experiences, and their opinion. Soliciting only positive comments is not allowed. "
Though I sure didnt see anything that explicitly states that the nature of the customer's opinion, positive, negative, or neutral, will have no bearing on your offer
**EDIT*** They fixed it now, thanks SVC I knew you would do the right thing
Again, I have allways liked SVC as a company and shop there allot myself, have allways had great service and intend to continue to do so. However I am upset with how they chose to run this so called give away.

I was just getting ready to order some stuff from them anyway, so I did the whole schtick. No problem with the email going through. I've been happy with their prices, but their shipping was slow a few months back when they were re-organizing internally. Recently, no problems.

Acrylic is really pretty -- but it's a real static generator. I'd only dare to use it in some humid place like South Florida.
Other than that, a great deal.

Again, I have allways liked SVC as a company and shop there allot myself, have allways had great service and intend to continue to do so. However I am upset with how they chose to run this so called give away. | Hey, wait a minute! I don't work for SVC!! I'm on their mailing list and this got sent to me. I just figured the rest of you might want to know about this giveaway. Hope that clears up any misunderstandings.
Edit: LOL! I just discovered what the email problem was... heh... I use Yahoo mail, and so the link I got in my email was set up so it would open the "compose new message" page. The reason I didn't realize this at first is because I'm pretty sure SVC is a Yahoo store, so I assumed that's what it pertained to.
Thanks to whichever of the mods fixed that.
Also, my apologies AAjax for messing up the email link.
