eBay customer service sucks and RR refuses to list them

I've requested that Reseller Ratings list eBay at least three times and have also requested that they list themselves - to no avail.
eBay makes more money than god. There is no excuse for their dismal customer service. It sells a service on the internet, so we should be able to comment on it here. Get with it RR and list all the auction services. Or are you afraid???

I think the main problem there is that you are not buying from EBay. You are buying from people selling hteir items using the ebay page as a place to sell it so can not therefor hold ebay accountable for the actions of the people who are buying and selling the products.

That is correct cunokyle - RR won't list them because they are just that - a service, not a seller. Also - eBay never states (as frustrating as this is) that they give phone support. Part of the deal with eBay is that their support is email or live chat based. If you hate that - then don't do eBay - that is the lesson I have had to learn, and my work is a high-end powerseller. They have gotten to the point that their business is literally so large, that phone support isn't a viable option for them.

cunokyle said it best. ebay provides the space for advertising. they do not have any interference with the deals unless its objects on sale like WTC rubble or NASA remains

**DELETED** eBay sells a service on the internet - just try to sell something on there without cutting them a slice (and if you use PayPal, you cut them another slice). When you try to find out something about their service, make changes in your acct. and it doesn't work, or for other reasons they screwed up. You can email them but you never get a response. Their customer care on their own service - nothing about the buy/sell transactions - SUCKS!!!
. Maybe they can be embarrassed into shaping up. But not if sites like RR don't help out.

And they do make more money than god - tell me how they do that if they are not SELLING THEIR SERVICE on the Internet?

Please be respectful of other members here. You can express your opinion without putting other people down, and I ask you to do so in the future.

Sit down, take 3 deep breaths, (maybe 4 in this case) and think about what you're saying before you post again. Please edit that comment out before a mod does.

Thanks!

zepper - you've got a good point, but Martoch is right. You need to tone down your post.

Besides, venting your frustration in here isn't likely to get you very far.

All that aside, I agree, it would be nice if we could rate ebay with RR, but I can also see why they don't list them.

ouch.. please tone down your post
I've sold on ebay before and i've even sold a car on it before!! Well, the buyer did not respond to any emails and i paid $80+ for listing fees! I recommend that you take deep breaths and have a little patience with them. I contacted them with LiveHelp and they were very helpful and I got my listing fee back! So, just slow down and give ebay sometime to respond to problems or questions that you have with them... thanks, paul

I can't speak for why eBay is not allowed to be listed, as I dont make decisions regarding what should be listed and what shouldn't, but I can give my speculation of why it isn't allowed. Your right, eBay does sell a service, and not goods. However, a "reseller" by definition buys goods and resells them, so they are not a reseller to be rated.

Also, this open letter to ResellerRatings visitors states the mission statement of of ResellerRatings contained in the following paragraph:

Quote:
ResellerRatings.com is a collection of customer reviews of retailers. I founded the site in 1998 when I saw the need for online retailers to be accountable to their customers. The mission then was the same as it is now: to help buyers become more informed about the retailers that they would like to do business with, and to help merchants improve their businesses through customer feedback and surveys.
Listing eBay does not seem to advance this mission at all, as it is meerly a medium, and not a retailer.
