Dell's Smoking Speakers may = Fire Hazard

Thanks much for the PM, Doc! I've warned both friends that bought this - one had opted for upgrade speakers anyway, and the other says his transformer's quiet.

But I feel better having alerted them!

Boy, those small speakers don't even look powerful enough to have heat problems or fire problems? Anyone know the specific cause for this? <stares at his own speakers > <puts on headphones instead>
