Looking for PC100 128MB memory.

I'm looking for two sticks of PC100 128MB memory. I can't use PC133 cause my pc doesn't support it.

All i can find anywhere is PC100 128MB for arround 30$

I want to spend arround 10-15$ each. Should i just look for it used in a trade or a buy?

Hey, iNeb:

If you're not in too much of a hurry, I'd wait for a memory deal from OM, BB, etc. They seem to run the PC100 on sale fairly regularly w/ MIR.

If you have to have it now, seems like you can find some sticks compatible w/your mobo at www.Crucial.com . Should be in the $20+ range delivered.

Wow - i just checked, and the PC100 for an Asus P3B-F mobo is in the $30 range for 128MB!! Production must be shifting away from these modules. Better look for the retail MIR deals for Kingston, PNY, RK-Byte, or CompUSA brand,(which is PNY I believe).

Have you tried PC133 in that board? Even though not supported, it should run at 100MHz OK. . .

Hope this helps ( even a little).

- Bill

Man, that sucks. I don't want to spend 20$+

OM and other places have the PC133, not the PC100 on sale all the time. I got some of their PC133 128MB for 7.99$ doesn't work in my system.

I can't wait to get new memory so i can smash my current memory into small tiny pieces

What is your current memory??

Regarding the incompatibility w/ pC133, could it be a single-sided or double-sided DIMM issue, usually spelled out in the mobo manual?? Just curious. . .

I just picked up a stick of K-byte 128MB PC133 for $4.79 at Staples.

Price matched against OM where it was $7.99

$39.98 - 35.19 (110% Price Guarantee) = $4.79

Also, picked up a stick of 256MB for $14.99

$69.98 - 54.99 (110% Price Guarantee) = $14.99

Harder

iNeb:

Staples has a 128 stick of PNY PC100 for $40 - $17 instant rebate - $10 MIR = $13 net. You'd have to buy two sticks separately, and mail in one of the rebates in a relative's name and address.
Kind of a hassle, but it will keep you w/in your price range that you're looking for.

Good deals Harder!

One of the memory in my PC is double sided.

I currently have 256MB PC100 and PC133 (128x2) but a new pc133 won't work alone, or with the pc100...

I have tons of memory errors, can't memory test, games freeze and crash, pc freezes and retstarts on it's own. I need new memory before i go insane.

I don't know my PC's mobo as it's an HP 9695c

Building a new PC in a week, but i still want to use this one for other stuff

ineb:
Looks like that board supports 256MB max., w/ 128MB being standard. So that 256MB stick is what brand, and it was put in at some later date?

So had the 256MB been working OK? For how long?

Doesn't look like a 256MB stick is supported. I could be wrong.

According to the Crucial site, their PC133(CL=2) is supposed to be compatible. I know I've used PC133 sticks successfully on boards w/ that same AMD 751 chipset.

i have installed 133mhz ram in about 5 pc's and all of them have automatically under clocked the ram to 100mhz and worked fine. have you tried 133 ram, all the 133 mhz ram i sell in australia says compatible with 133mhz bus.
